Calypso

Calypso is a very special girl looking for a special home. Calypso was born with Cerebellar<br/>hypoplasia. Cerebellar hypoplasia in cats—often called "wobbly cat syndrome" —is a non-progressive neurological condition where the cerebellum fails to develop fully before birth, most commonly caused by an in-utero infection with the feline panleukopenia virus. <br/><br/>She is an adorable, naturally squinty, half tailed, ungraceful, beautiful lady with so much love to give. At this point in her life, the condition does not require any additional medical care. She eats, drinks, gets around, jumps on furniture, and uses the litterbox like any other cat (though she does sometimes kick a little extra litter out). <br/><br/>What she does need is a loving, patient, safe home where a cat like her is understood. Calypso is a very loving and affectionate girl. She enjoys following people around, meowing and rubbing on their legs every time they hold still. She also enjoys pets and love, but they have to be given in a way that makes her feel safe. <br/><br/>When Calypso is standing and walking, she tends to feel off balance and is very careful to avoid moving people and animals. Because of this- she would do best in a home without energetic or playful animals that may want to jump on or try to play with her. Once she is laying or sitting, she<br/>will demand pets and follow you if you try to stop. She currently lives and cuddles with a quiet<br/>companion also from the colony she was in, as well as kittens who have learned to give her the<br/>needed space. She will hiss and shrink away from pushy animals and people if they move too<br/>quickly and make her feel nervous.
