Calvin's Story

Meet Calvin! Calvin is an adorable 12-week-old kitten who has been thriving in foster care after being found alone as a tiny baby on a porch in a condo complex. He is a social little guy who loves petting and attention, but he can startle easily and will retreat to the safety of his crate until he feels comfortable again. Calvin loves to play with other cats and enjoys interactive time with his feline friends, which helps him build confidence and have fun. His foster mom has been patiently working on helping him feel safe, and he is gradually learning to trust people more each day. This sweet, gentle kitten would do best in a calm, patient home where he can relax in a sunny window, curl up on a lap, and continue blossoming alongside other friendly cats.This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home! Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion. Due to demand, we do not place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet all cats or kittens available for adoption at the time of visit. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping the shelter, we are always looking for foster families of our cats and dogs, as well as in-person volunteers, to assist with animal care. Connecticut Cat Connection's Adoption Policy

At Connecticut Cat Connection we feel it is important to take the time to get to know the cats in our care. Most people familiar with cats know they can have quirky personalities. Realistically, your decision is better made on a behavioral match than a breed choice or age. Please consider adopting an older cat that can give you just as much cat comfort as a younger cat. If you are interested in adopting, you must first complete the adoption application. Approved adoption applications will be handled by an adoption coordinator who will reach out to you to schedule your appointment. Depending on how many applications are submitted this process can take a few days or up to 2 weeks. The majority of adoption applications that come through are great – but we wouldn’t be doing our jobs well if we didn’t screen applicants adequately. The information asked for is necessary to match people with the right cats that would fit in well with them, and to make sure the pet owners took care of previous pets. Kittens are in foster homes – if you are looking to adopt a kitten the adoption coordinator will discuss what kittens are available with you. Please note the cat or kitten shown on our website or petfinder may have appointments scheduled with potential adopters. They are not removed from the sites until they have left the shelter and the adoption is documented in our databases which can take a few days. Cats and kittens may go home the same day they are selected, to approved adopters. You must present a valid driver’s license or government issued photo ID. We do not adopt pets as gifts. The person who will be the owner of the new pet must be present and complete the adoption process. Please bring a sturdy pet carrier at the time of picking up your pet and large enough for the cat you are adopting to fit in. If purchasing a new cat carrier, we recommend a medium size with an open top to provide more options to comfortably get your new cat into the carrier.
