Calvin's Story
CAPE Courtesy Post:

Looking for a Loving Home for Calvin
When Calvin first showed up near his foster mom Kelly’s home he was starving, scared, and he had arthritic back legs when walking. It looked like Calvin was in pain. Kelly started feeding him regular morning and evening meals and he quickly improved. It was obvious Calvin had been neglected, most likely abandoned in the neighborhood, becoming fearful of humans.

The next step was to gain Calvin’s trust. He was wary of people, but Kelly was patient and within a month Calvin was showing his sweet, affectionate side. He is shy at first but once you earn his trust you will have a devoted companion who loves to cuddle.

Kelly took Calvin to the vet for a complete wellness checkup once she earned his trust. Calvin was estimated to be about two years old. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and he tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Calvin was also treated for fleas and dewormed.

Calvin is ready for the life he deserves in a stable, loving home with cozy spots to curl up in, fun places to explore, and human (or two) to call his own. Calvin would do great as an indoor only cat with a comfy perch near a window. With slow, proper introductions we believe Calvin would adjust well with other cats and/or easy going dogs in his new home. Very young children would not be ideal for Calvin. We would also consider a foster to adopt situation for Calvin.

Calvin is currently being fostered in Grass Valley, CA. If you would like more information email lori@capeanimals.org. To fill out an adoption application go to https://www.capeanimals.org/dog-rescue-and-adoption and scroll down the adoption application button. Please note that a home visit is required.
