Calliope's Story

Hi, My name is Calliope and I was born in July 2021. I spent my first year living outside and taking care of my first litter of kittens. When I was carrying my second litter, I was taken in and started living with my foster mom. She helped me raise those kittens and found all of them a great home, and I've stayed with her since. I am a shy cat, and really don't like to be picked up, but I am a very affectionate cat on my own terms. Please don't try to pick me up, let me come to you so you can give me head and but scratches. The best way to win my affection is to offer me treats. I love meat tubes and any other type of cat treat. I really like to get a little bit of affection right before I eat breakfast and dinner. I currently live with one of my daughters (Tilly) and my foster mom's cats. I get along with everyone, but I prefer to play alone, or with Tilly. I love catnip toys, wand toys, and I will even chase a ball around and bounce it off all the walls and furniture. You will usually find me sitting in the front window watching the birds and squirrels, or at the patio door enjoying the sunshine. I like living with other cats, but sometimes it's hard to get my foster mom's attention so I'd like to live by myself or maybe with Tilly. Because I am so shy, it would be best to have a virtual meeting with me so you can see what I'm like when I'm relaxed. If you come to meet me in person, I will probably try to watch you from a distance, but I might get close if you have the good snacks, especially chicken shawarma.

NOTE 1: Spays, neuters, first vaccinations and vet checks are included in the adoption fee.

NOTE 2: Because a young kitten needs feline companionship, it is the policy of Cat Rescue Network that kittens 6 months or younger be adopted out in pairs unless there is another kitten or young cat already in the home.

NOTE 3: Cat Rescue Network only adopts their cats to homes in the National Capital region of Canada
