Callie's Story
Callie came to us as a group of cats that were caught in Burlington. Sweet Callie was the mom to a lot of them! She can now live a life of luxury without having to protect her kittens, have more kittens, survive outdoor elements, or fend off predators. She LOVES to have her own personal space that she can resort to when she wishes. Soft blankets are cozy and food is an absolute must. If she sees the bottom of that bowl, she will let you know that you're slacking on your duties of serving her royal highness. Callie loves to play; toy balls that jingle and scratch pads are some of her favorite past times. She enjoys snuggles on or next to your lap and prefers this over being held. Of course, she welcomes pets and in fact, demands them. Although Callie is social, she has lived outdoors for quite some time. This is a contributing factor in why she does not care for dogs so a dog-free home would be most comfortable for her. She cohabitated with her kittens into teenage-hood and had appropriate interactions throughout her time in the foster home with them. We believe she could successfully live in a home with another cat with the appropriate and slow introduction we would discuss during the adoption consult. She has not been around children under the age of 17yo so we have little information about how she is around young children. Callie has been a great momma and now it is her time to shine. Our adoption process is simple, relationship-centered, and provides supportive education. You can expect your adoption interest to go like this:
1. Submit your electronic form
2. An AEL representative will contact you to schedule a phone call or adoption counsel session.
3. Come to your adoption counsel session to meet the pet you're interested in and ready to take them home with you (dependent on the pet, some need more than one meet)
4. If the pet is determined to be a good fit with your family by both you and the AEL representative, you will sign your contract, submit your adoption payment, and take your new friend home!

Let us know you're interested here: http://tinyurl.com/AELadoptionsquad
