Callie's Story
Callie is a pretty young calico who has been an excellent mother to her kittens, and is now ready to find a home of her own. Callie is a bit shy at first, but we expect she will blossom in a home where patient people will let her go at her own pace. She likes to be petted, so we think snuggles will soon follow! She is a very chill cat who likes to hang out and watch her kittens, watch the people, or watch the world through the window. Callie does seem to have a special bond with one of her kittens, and they would be an awesome mother-daughter duo! Callie has tested positive for FeLV, and as such, her adoption fee has been waived. Callie is healthy now and with supportive care might have several good years ahead of her. She cannot be an outdoor cat and cannot be housed with non-FeLV cats. If you can open your heart and home to this deserving kitty, please apply today.

Unfortunately Callie was diagnosed with FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) upon arrival at Underdog. FeLV is passed between cats via saliva, usually through mutual grooming and sharing food and water dishes. Affected cats can become immunosuppressed and are more susceptible to other infectious diseases. This disease is incurable but many cats can live for years before becoming ill, especially if they receive regular veterinary check-ups, proper nutrition, and are not subjected to a lot of extra stress in their lives. Callie appears to be otherwise healthy at this time and okay for adoption to a household without any other cats or with other FeLV positive cats. Adopters are encouraged to discuss any concerns with their veterinarian prior to Adoption.

Interested in this sweet cat?
