Callie's Story

Look at that face ! How can you resist those beautiful big eyes ? Callie is a gentle soul with a new lease on life. She is a special needs cat with very few special needs. She was to be a simple TNR. She had other plans and gave birth to five kittens that night. Subsequently, she became very ill and within two weeks of giving birth needed an emergency spay. We helped her and babies stay together for 6 weeks she was a wonderful mom. Her first problem was resolved with her spay but she remains heartworm positive. . Once the kittens were weaned she started treatment. While there is no cure for heartworm in cats you can help them. She underwent several weeks of steroid therapy and started on topical Revolution monthly. It has been 5 months and she displays no symptoms. No respiratory distress she plays she is happy. She needs a quiet adult /older children home. Callie is okay with the dog in her foster home. She would be okay with other accepting cats she is very submissive and has never shown aggression toward me or the other cats in the home . Please , she deserves as much love as she can get in a safe home . She gives me kisses she comes for pets, she has the quietest little meow. Nobody can predict the future with heartworm she could live a normal life span or they could take her in a short amount of time. The only requirement for this special Kitty is monthly Revolution( orgeneric) topically. A safe indoor home and lots of love is all she wants!
Kathy Hazlett
Pineville,NC
Kerri.lou.0220@gmail.com
#401-497-5371
