The husband and wife both passed away, leaving two beloved cats without the love and care they had known for 18 years.<br/>This kind of sudden change – moving into a strange environment – can shake any cat’s world. <br/><br/>But sweet Calico and Torté have been so appreciative of the affection and care they are receiving at the Cattail Farmhouse Adoption Center that they have settled in unusually well.<br/><br/>Safe Haven is looking for a long-term foster home for them. The shelter will cover all medical care for the remainder of their lives, including prescription food.<br/><br/>Despite both being deaf, at age 18 these sister cats have impeccable blood work. They were well cared for, and it shows. The only issues are that Torté has stage 2 kidney disease and requires a special diet, while Calico has allergies to wet food and can only eat prescription dry food. They must not eat one another’s food – their caregiver must keep a watchful eye over them when they eat. But that’s it! No pills, no meds. Amazing for two 18-year-old cats.<br/><br/>Without hesitation, the sisters come running over to Safe Haven’s volunteers the minute they enter the room.
