Cairo's Story

Cairo is a three legged girl, she is missing her front left leg and the vet who saw her felt it was likely from a birth deformity.
She was found outside with puncture wounds on her back, the nice person feeding her coaxed her inside and took her to the vet and then called Carma to help. She was super scared when she came to Carma which you can imagine how hard it would have been for her to survive outside with three legs and given the wounds in her back she barely escaped a predator.
Fast forward a few months after being in a foster home. She loves hanging out with her people and her foster fur friend. She also enjoys ear rubs and chasing feathers. When its bed time she likes to curl up under the covers with her people. She is definitely not the scared little girl who came to us in December 2025. Her Foster parents describe her as being very easy going and social girl. Cairo needs another cat in her forever home.
She is approximately 3 years old.
Please consider adopting Cairo into your loving home. If you cant adopt her, please share her story and help her find her forever home.

If you are interested in adopting Cairo, please contact us at frederictoncarma@gmail.com.

Fill out an adoption application here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfZFfrReR_SFRgIQYba6kxfNkxsiQ0bktXtIIrJb_ZRPKQbcg/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1U6c4NbehUd-O2WaqGAxpZvrcuovBBlDXKgSEGbvyZGPkORDyB21KaHGs

As of October 2024, the adoption donations will be:

- Adult cat (over 12 months): $125
- Kitten (12 months and under): $200

Would you like to make a one-time donation to help cats like Cairo? So, you've found your potential new best friend... send us an email and we'll get the ball rolling for you! All cats and kittens available for adoption by CARMA Fredericton are treated to ensure they do not have fleas, ear mites, roundworm, tapeworms, or heartworm. They are spayed/neutered and vaccinated at Ca-R-Ma's expense. We do not sell cats or kittens; instead we request that adopters donate to our spay/neuter fund. This amount can change from time to time - please check with our volunteers for the current minimum donation. CARMA does not have a shelter but instead relies on a network of loving foster homes to help us socialize and care for adoptable cats.
