Buttercup's Story

Meet Buttercup, a charming 4-year-old black and white shorthaired cat with a personality as unique as her coat. Buttercup is initially shy but warms up quickly once she feels safe and secure in her surroundings. She appreciates human companionship but prefers attention on her own terms, savoring affectionate pets and cuddles when she's in the mood. She relishes having a space that is solely hers, where she can retreat and relax in peace. While she knows how to co-exist with other feline companions, Buttercup would thrive best in a home where she can be the sole recipient of attention. Her tranquil nature means she requires a calm and quiet environment, free from the energetic presence of children. With her gentle spirit and loving disposition, Buttercup is sure to bring warmth and companionship to the lucky family that welcomes her into their hearts and home, providing her with the peaceful haven she deserves.<br/>If you are interested in adopting or meeting Buttercup, fill out an application at apl-shelter.org (for adopting) or come visit in-person at the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield. The APL is open every day from noon to 5 p.m.
