Buttercup's Story

It’s been nearly a year since she came to us, and at times it still feels like we’re barely scratching the surface when it comes to understanding the enigma that is Buttercup.

Surrendered with her mother whom she seemed to detest (we aren’t judging, family stuff can be weird!), and spending months running and hiding every chance she had, it felt as though we’d never get to where we are today. But here we are, and most days we feel we have at least an understanding of what Buttercup wants- most days, and if you guessed intense snuggle sessions, you’d be absolutely wrong.

Most days Buttercup is pretty content with chilling, chowing down, rolling with some catnip, and having her behind scratched. Sure, she has chronic RBF and sure, she might do the occasional hiss when you so much as look at her, but most of the time it’s all screech and no scratch with Buttercup, again, most of the time. Once you get past the flash of little dagger teeth, you’ll see that all Buttercup really wants is some attention and a treat or two wouldn’t hurt!

Over time, we’ve learned that Buttercup is a lover of the simple things in life: a good meal, a good place to lounge, and an equally chill person to enjoy these things with. As such, Buttercup will likely do best in a household of the more mature variety and only with other animals of the relaxed disposition.

Buttercup is spayed, up-to-date on all her shots, and has been Heartworm, FeL-V, + FiV tested. Buttercup is a plump young lady and would benefit from someone being able to encourage enrichment and playtime-as well as someone able to keep a watchful eye on her mealtime etiquette.
