Buttascotch's Story
Experienced Home Needed

Buttascotch aka "Butta"

Butta is a shy little lady simply needing a small cozy space in a quiet home. Time and patience are key for this girl!

We always see amazing transformations from intake up until adoption day and it's an even greater difference once they're home. We would love this for our girl!

Butta came to us through another rescuer when trapping at a difficult hoarding situation. She was one of the last (and shyest) cats to be saved. We can't blame her for being a little unsure of the world. Life is tough for these kitties.

She's now been with us for almost a year (as of this December) and she made some wonderful progress but it's not the environment where she can truly thrive. She's ready for her next chapter — she just needs the right person to help her get there.

Butta is around 4 years old and very much an independent lady. She absolutely looooooves to play — wand toys are her jam.

She's not a snuggle bug and most times rather stay "hands off," she does enjoy the occasional gentle pet from people she trusts. It might take her a while (or maybe never) for her to want to be more affectionate or be close, and that's okay! Every cat needs to be allowed to go at the pace they need to feel safe.

Butta is gentle when handled, and with patience, we know there's so much more to come from this sweet lady.

What she really needs is a safe, quiet, and patient home — one where she can continue to learn that she's safe and loved. No dominant cats for this girl!

We're ideally looking for someone open to a foster-to-adopt situation, so we can support both you and Butta during the transition.

If adoption isn't right just yet, we'd still be thrilled to find her a long-term foster who can give her the time and consistency she needs to feel secure.

She's come such a long way, and we just know there's a brave, playful, loving cat in there ready to shine — she just needs the right home.

If you're the kind of person who believes the best things are worth waiting for, Butta might just be your girl. She's been through a lot, but with time, love, and a cozy indoor home, her true glow-up can finally begin.

Got questions? We'd love to chat
