Burlie's Story
Meet Burlie, a lovely sophisticated Calico who somehow ended up in the country. She walked right up to her rescuer because she was hungry. The rescuer opened up her car door and in jumped Burlie!

Burlie is sweet and likes gentle pets and will let you know when petting time is up by pulling away or a little swat. Getting to know Burlie is being able to read her signs when petting time is done.

Burlie does okay with her roomies but she would do best as your one and only. She has an outgoing personality but one that is not adequately reflected here at the shelter which we attribute to sharing her space with other kitties. She is often one of the first kitties in the room to greet visitors. We believe once she has a home of her own, she will be able to relax and enjoy the attention and time from her adopter.

Burlie is like the "it" girl in school, the one who if she gave you any attention you were thrilled. The "it" girl's attention didn't last long as she had other things to attend to, but each time she gave you attention, you were thrilled to be noticed. This is our Burlie. When she gives you attention, you will feel special but Burlie only gives attention for short periods and then is off to lounging in the sun, playing with toys, or having the zoomies. At some point she will seek your affection again so Burlie needs an adopter who is fine with short bursts of attention that come and go throughout the day.

Burlie enjoys play time, especially wand toys. She is not fearful. Burlie is smart, as she approached her human rescuers knowing that was the way to survive. Burlie's reward is now a home of her own and an adopter to spoil her. She would do well with a single adopter, a couple, or a family with older respectful kids. If you are looking for a low maintenance, not at all needy kitty, but one who can make you laugh with her antics, Burlie is your girl!

Burlie has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Burlie has an approximate birthdate of 11/10/2024. Her adoption fee is $95.

If you are interested in Burlie or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.
