Buddy's Story

Buddy, such a big beautiful, loving house panther of about 2 years old. He has a story, we wish we knew all of it, but we can only tell you for sure about how far he has come since coming to us just before Halloween in October 2025.
He was trapped in Central Saanich, and came to us after another rescue that had helped us many times asked if we could take him.
The first meeting I had with him, included a scared meow, followed quickly by a lot of hissing and growling....there was something in that meow that made me think this cat needed a chance and there was a lovely boy under the scared, tough guy persona.
The first few weeks were a bit challenging, every time he saw me he would give several meow, then lunge hissing and growling in his most ferocious way. He seemed so confused at first.
We got him neutered and vetted, giving him time to just relax and realize he was safe.
It took until January when his beautiful personality started to shine through. There was no more lunging, hissing and growling. There was happy meows and head butts...
This boy becomes more amazing each day! He LOVES to be petted and talked to, rolling over and just being silly when he sees me now.
As you can see in this video, he just needed the time to trust people again.
We are certain he was a loved kitten at one time, but sadly, like many, once the little kitten stage has worn off and the cute intact kitten turns into a big tom cat cruising around looking for females and marking his territory, he gets abandoned.
Someone mistreated this incredible cat, but he still trusts with everything he has. His purr is like an engine and just the sheer joy that he shows when being loved on brings a smile.
We really need to see this boy finally get the person that will love him forever.
He will need a quiet, smaller home, without children or dogs. He seems to get along very well with relaxed cats. Indoor only is a must.
He will need some time to trust his person, but once he does, we are certain he will be your couch buddy.
It is very hard to describe how special this cat is.

Buddy has taken some time to come around, but he has decided that he wants to be someones house cat! He is still nervous and probably always will be, but once he knows you he will greet with meows and purrs. He loves head butts and wants to be a friend.

He will take time to adjust to a new home. So patience is a must for this guy. With time he is a super love, he loves to be pet and gives lots of head buts

He will need a quiet, small home, without children or dogs. He would likely do well with another non dominant cat.

Indoor only
