Buddy's Story

Meet Buddy!

Buddy is a 2-year-old black domestic shorthair with a lot of love to give once he gets to know you! Buddy might be a bit shy at first and needs some time to warm up to new people, but once he's comfortable, he's a sweet and affectionate companion. He especially loves chin scratches-just a gentle rub, and you'll see him purring away in no time.

Buddy has a special fondness for wet food, so if you want to win his heart, a tasty treat will go a long way. He's got a playful side, but he can get overstimulated, so he's looking for someone who understands his need for a calm, patient environment.

While Buddy may not be the type to immediately jump into your lap, with time, you'll earn his trust, and he'll become a loyal, loving friend. Buddy has FIV, which means he has a weaker immune system than most cats. FIV cats can live a long, happy life, but should not go to a home with FIV-negative cats.

Come meet him at the Animal Protective League, located at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield. We're open every day from noon to 5 p.m.
