Buddha's Story

Buddha joined us in 2023 when we first opened our facility, coming to us from the La Plata Humane Society. Having been diagnosed with kidney disease, she is a member of our Hospice care group and receives extra attention to ensure her days are as comfortable and joyful as possible. While she's not the cuddliest of cats, she has her own special way of showing affection-every morning, she eagerly asks for a shoulder ride as soon as we walk through the doors.

Cat Care Durango's Adoption Policy

Until you have completed an adoption application and have been approved for adoption, our staff will not discuss adoption details regarding any particular cat with you. It may take 24-48 hours for your application to be processed, please be patient with us! You must be 21 years of age or older to be approved for adoption. Please be ready to provide a government issued picture Id. You must provide proof of address as well as your lease (if you rent), with pet policy included, and the phone number of your landlord. We support adopting kittens in pairs and offer a discount to encourage doing so.
