Bucky's Story

Bucky may arrive as a wallflower, but don’t be fooled—this kitten has main character energy just waiting to be unlocked. He’s shy and reserved with new people at first, but once he feels safe (and especially once there’s another cat around), Bucky transforms into a full-blown diva in the best way. With a feline companion by his side, he becomes playful, dramatic, curious, and unapologetically affectionate—a true snuggle-loving, silly little star. His ideal home is a calm, patient one with another cat who can help him feel confident enough to take center stage.

Bucky’s need for reassurance comes from a past no kitten should ever have experienced. He and his sister were found confined to a crate in a carport. When the people who had them left town for a week, the kittens were abandoned without food or water in the July heat. Somehow, they survived.

While his sister recovered quickly, Bucky needed more time—and more care. He was hospitalized for a week, slowly regaining his strength after prolonged confinement and neglect. The veterinary staff even let him roam the office to stretch his legs because he had spent so long in a kennel. With subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics, vitamins, and a lot of determination, Bucky fought his way back.

Now that he’s healed, Bucky is ready for what he was always meant for: a safe home, a cat companion, and people willing to let him warm up at his own pace—so he can reward them with affection, antics, and a little bit of attitude.

After everything he’s been through, Bucky deserves his happily ever after.
