Buckeye's Story

Meet Buckeye! A Little Talker with a BIG Heart

Introducing sweet Buckeye, a little kitten looking for a forever home where he can continue to grow, thrive, and be loved for the special guy he is!

Buckeye had a rocky start in life, but thankfully, his story took a turn for the better when he was rescued at just about six weeks old. He had been spotted outside a business, crying all by himself, with no mom or siblings anywhere in sight. Fortunately, he was able to be rescued, and Buckeye found his way quickly into a loving foster home, where a dedicated foster mom has given him the care, comfort, and security he needed to grow into the happy, affectionate kitten he is today. Now, he’s ready to find a family of his very own!

Buckeye has a way of stealing the heart of just about everyone he meets. He may be a little shy when first meeting someone, but give him a little time, and his sweet, outgoing personality begins to shine. One of his most endearing qualities? This boy is quite the talker! He’ll seek you out to let you know when he’s in the mood for attention, playtime, or perhaps a little snack. And if he decides it’s time to hang out, don’t be surprised if he calls out to you until you come see what he has in mind!

Buckeye is a social little guy who enjoys the company of both people and other animals. He has been living with his foster family’s five resident cats, a dog, and another tiny foster kitten, so he’s had plenty of opportunities to learn about sharing his space with furry friends. He especially enjoys spending time with the other cats and playing with them — be sure to check out his attached YouTube video for a particularly funny moment! He’s currently tolerating his well-mannered canine housemate, although he hasn’t quite decided how he feels about dogs just yet. With patience, time, and proper introductions, he may learn to feel comfortable with a respectful dog in his future home.

We think Buckeye would enjoy a home with another friendly, playful cat or two to keep him company and provide a little feline fun. That said, he could also be perfectly content as a devoted lap cat, soaking up all the love and attention his humans have to offer. We can easily imagine him wandering through the house, calling for his favorite person when he’s ready to play, hang out, or curl up for some quality cuddle time. Whatever his future home looks like, Buckeye has plenty of love to give — and he’s sure to make his family smile with his sweet nature and chatty personality.

Buckeye is approximately 3 months old, he is neutered, up to date on vaccines and now ready for the next chapter of his life: adoption!

If you are interested in adopting little Buckeye, kindly fill out our required application, which can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SPLC/Cat

For the safety of our animals, home checks are a requirement of adoption, but we make this as unobtrusive and convenient as possible.

THANK YOU for considering a rescue cat— and for giving a deserving kitten like Buckeye the chance to know what it means to be truly loved.
