Buck Tabby Palmyra, VA

I’m the very embodiment of the happy go lucky, social, and spunky orange tabby boy. Nothing gets me down and I adjust quickly to just about any situation. What I do insist on is lots of Buck loving and attention. I am the life of any party, playful and just full of myself. Come into my room and I’ll greet you enthusiastically, anxious to strike up a friendship and perhaps a life long love affair. Soft as down and sweet as the orange sherbet color of my fur, I’m just the best of companions and friends.

Volunteer August Mini Update 2024: Still a sweetie and one of the oldest cats at CFC despite being FeLV+. Despite the summer heat, he delights in snoozing on the Catio. Always welcomes loving attention and is a good lap cat.

Spring Update 2024: Now one of our oldest residents at 17 yrs of age,  BUCK continues to take one day at a time and no doubt, makes the most of each day.  A couple times a week,  his days are even a wee bit brighter as new volunteer Steve is stopping by and offering up his lap, his caring arms and soft voice to keep our good friend company.   Steve reports that Buck is second in friendliness in this room only to busy body, teen sensation Justice.  Buck is among the first to rush him when he enters the room and then closely hovers by him (competing for attention) as he makes the rounds to all the 4 leggeds in the room.  Already,  he's giving Steve his customary soft purr of contentment as he's pet and perhaps the biggest accolade bestowed on our sweet boy is that Steve has identified him as the "Sweetest cat in the room."  Ah....if only someone who had space and a need for Buck might please come and scoop up this gem of a cat asap!   Until then,  Buck is doing fine...no emerging health issues...and we'll enjoy chilling and hanging with him as the warmer temps descend upon us.  Thank you for giving and making this special life possible for Buck.


Winter 2024 Update: Buck is continuing to do well at CFC this winter. Although he still enjoys going onto the catio on the warmer days we periodically have during winter in central Virginia, he is looking forward towards spring to have more opportunities to soak up the sun out there. As the second oldest cat currently calling CFC home, he certainly deserves those opportunities. Buck still enjoys visitors and some lap time whenever it’s possible. He can sometimes be found patiently waiting in line for an available lap as his roommates Sai and Marble usually demand to be ahead of him. Always a gentleman, he will concede to their demands and wait his turn. With a personality like this it’s no wonder that Buck is a favorite of some of our volunteers.

Fall 2023 Update: Buck is a hard working cat. He is what we might call the "balancer" in the room as he slowly maneuvers around helping to keep the peace and perhaps even resolve kitty disputes! We can count on Buck to greet us humans as we enter the room and in return, it's always appreciated if we give him some pets on his head and body. One of the most pleasant natured kitties, we can count on Buck to help newer arrivals to his room to settle in and live their best life. Buck is doing well health wise and has no new health concerns. He continues to be a joy to have under our care and we'll look forward to seeing him outside on his catio taking in the fall color show.
