Bubba's Story

Bubba the Brave: From Comeback King to Couch Companion

Meet Bubba! A handsome grey tabby that is just under 7 years old looking to find his forever home. He is a very friendly and sweet cat and would do great in just about any home including one with children. He loves to get pet and will put his paw out to continue getting pet. Although Bubba is sharing space with other cats, we think he would prefer to be your one and only. He could be okay with another cat as long as the other cat is very laid back and ignores Bubba. Bubba has been through a lot over the past 6 months, but he is now ready to find his forever home that he deserves. Here is a little history on Bubba's journey to us.

Bubba was surrendered to Animal Control in August 2025 when his owner could no longer take care of him. When Bubba was surrendered, he was extremely overweight. While Animal Control worked on getting Bubba on a diet and getting some of those pounds off him, they noticed that he was drinking A LOT of water. Bloodwork was done where he was diagnosed with diabetes. Animal Control then asked us to help Bubba so that we could start him on insulin. Within 3 weeks of starting insulin, Bubba went into remission and continues to be! We recommend keeping him on a wet food diet and making sure to keep his weight at a good healthy weight to avoid him becoming diabetic again. Bubba also had some significant dental disease so Bubba had a dental procedure done where he needed to have a full mouth extraction, but the good news is he is feeling so much better and is now ready to find his forever home.

After everything he has faced, Bubba is not looking for grandeur. He is looking for steady hands, a soft couch, and someone who understands that second chances are precious things. This silver-striped gentleman has done the hard work, shed the weight, conquered diabetes, powered through dental surgery, and come out the other side brighter than ever. Now it is his turn to simply be adored. If you are ready to open your home to a resilient, paw-reaching, heart-melting best friend who will happily claim you as his favorite human, Bubba is ready to claim you right back. His forever story is waiting to begin.

Cats are negative for FelV/FIV, receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, are spayed/neutered and are microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption).

All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion.

Location: Bolton, CT
Adoption Fee: $250

Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
ADOPTION PROCESS Our goal is to match the right pet with the right adopter. This means we approach each adoption opportunity in a unique way. One of our adoption specialists will meet (in person, or by phone) with you to learn about your "ideal pet." We take into consideration lifestyle, family dynamic, desired personality traits and an adopter's overall objective in bringing a new pet into their home and make recommendations on which of our pets may be a good fit. ADOPTION SUPPORT We understand that bringing a new pet into your home can be a little stressful. It can take time for a new animal to settle in, and you may have questions about behavior or routine. When we adopt out a pet to a new home, we are available to answer any questions that come up - and to support the new adopter with any special needs they may have related to in-home adjustment. Because our pets are fostered in private homes, we can let you know what's normal, what's not and how to address any initial challenges you may have. FEES Adoption fees vary by animal, and take into consideration age, breed and other characteristics. We strive to keep adoption fees reasonable and many of our animals receive veterinary care at costs that far exceed the adoption fee. Adoption fees are listed on each animal's description. WHAT'S INCLUDED All of our adoptable animals receive age-appropriate vaccines, are spayed/neutered (at age-appropriate time), have a microchip and are tested for species-specific diseases. They also go home with a certificate for one month of FREE pet insurance through Trupanion.
