Brunhilda's Story

Have you fully accepted your role as loyal servant to your feline overlords? Do you have an advanced tolerance for antibiotics and a high threshold for chaos? Then congratulations-Brunhilda may be the cat you never knew you needed.

Brunhilda came to us starving, sick, and with a well-earned reputation for being... let's say "assertive." This fierce mama of four sick kittens spent three months running a tight security detail in her foster home, complete with triple barricades and strategically placed water buckets to break up any skirmishes. Towels, shoes, and doors alike learned very quickly: you don't mess with Brunhilda's babies. Sadly, one of her tiny Valkyries didn't make it, but the other three thrived and are now adopted. Now it's Bruni's turn to shine.

Don't be fooled by her fluffy cuteness. Brunhilda's not-so-secret mission is world domination-starting with your home. She can open doors, shut them behind her so no one else follows, and has proven beyond a doubt that "childproof" doesn't mean "Brunhilda-proof."

Bruni is afraid of thunderstorms and insists on being pressed against your back until the storm passes. You might not be a side sleeper now, but you will be. Need to roll over? Her perfectly positioned claws will remind you that your one true purpose is to keep her safe.

She has eclectic music tastes. Soft, soothing tunes calm her inner conqueror, but heavy bass or noisy TV? That's a no-go unless you keep urgent care on speed dial.

Other cats in the home? Brunhilda's open to being queen of a kingdom with subjects, but her furry roommates must understand her ground rules: no toy theft, no loud protests, and absolutely no existing without her permission. Playtime is on her terms-and her foster siblings are still writing strongly worded Yelp reviews about their "attack mom" experience.

You won't see Brunhilda at adoption events (we love our volunteers too much to subject them to that). Instead, she's available for meet-and-greets in her Logan Square foster home-with a signed safety waiver, of course.

What you will get in return is a fluffy, hilarious, endlessly fascinating cat. Her quirky smile, funny little hop when she zooms, and commanding presence will keep you both laughing and in awe. Most importantly: You. Will. Pet. Her.

Fine print: Brunhilda is not recommended for homes with children, dogs, open access to sharp tools, or households unwilling to bow to the crown.

Apply to adopt Brunhilda here: sayvanimals.org/adopt

[PLEASE NOTE: Despite what AdoptaPet, Petfinder and other aggregation services may state, the first step in our process is to submit an application, not send a message through their platform(s). Thank you!]
