Brownie is a 10 year old long-haired cat even though her photos don't reflect that after a recent shaving but when her hair grows back fully, she will be quite the beauty with her shiny black coat.<br/><br/>Brownie is very independent and spends her days exploring her surroundings, sniffing her catnip toys, and discovering new places to sit and sleep. She is a little bitty kitty (5.5 pounds) but she can jump from the floor to the chair to the bed or table and can scoot very fast on those rare occasions if something surprises her. She accepts petting and brushing from humans but at first didn't seem to realize that its possible to have a relationship with them. She is starting initiate interaction. <br/><br/>Brownie is deaf but that isnt a problem at all because she is generally so self-sufficient. To get her attention it is best to get in front of her so she sees you before you touch her. She will sit on the bench in front of a window and watch birds and squirrels. She loves napping in her bed in front of a sliding glass door where she gets lots of sunshine. She doesn't scratch or bite furniture or people.<br/><br/>She has recently discovered she has a voice and it can be quite loud (which is quite common for a deaf cat) but fortunately she doesn't use it often. Her super power is that she can stand on her hind legs and do a little dance! She sometimes does this in front of a closed door and then paws at the door handle in an attempt to open it.
