Meet Brookie! She is a super cute 3 year old dilute calico looking for her forever home through Celestial Zoo Pet Rescue. Brookie was surrendered to the Davis County Shelter due to no fault of her own. Brookie was very scared in the shelter and wasn't showing well due to this. When I got her it took her quite a while to get comfortable in my home, but right off the bat she was very sweet and affectionate. Once Brookie settled into her surroundings her personality really began to show. She is very silly and playful and loves having toys and things to play with around the house. She loves to cuddle and is always a little sad when no one wants to love on her. She enjoys belly rubs and gives lots of kisses when she gets attention. She's the best pur machine especially when she is laying with her people. Brookie does well with my cat savvy dogs and will even play a game of " peak a boo come chase me" with my young lab. That being said I think overly excited dogs or dogs who will chase her would not be the best fit for her. Even when she is very comfortable Brookie is still very jumpy and will jump and flinch if movements catch her off guard (she's sitting next to you and you move your foot). Going into a new home Brookie will likely need a slow introduction to the house. She did best after spending about 2 weeks in my bathroom before being allowed out on the main part of my apartment. A home without young kids will likely be best for her as young kids will likely be loud and overwhelming. Brookie is over all well behaved and stays out of my plants. She does like to climb and tries to jump on shelves so a cat three or kitty perch will likely be great for her. Brookie doesn't love stagnant water and does best with either a fountain or fresh water given frequently. She is currently eating taste of the wild and does well on it.
