Brix's Story
Our rescues mean a lot to the vet staff and DunRoamin' volunteers. We do everything we can to find the perfect homes for these pets, who are being given a second chance at a happy life. The application process requires pre-adoption applications, references, and interviews with you and those listed on your application in order to ensure a successful placement. If you are interested in learning more about the pet listed, please complete an application at https://form.jotform.com/60793520585259 and a representative will be in touch!

**The email used for listings is not actively monitored and inquiries made through these ads will not receive a reply.

Brix came to DunRoamin' on October 1, 2024, from Good Corner where he was an owned cat. Apparently healthy previously, approximately one week earlier he began to be unable to walk and he stopped eating. His owner was unable to undertake medical care for him, so he came to us as a last resort.

Brix was born about October 3, 2021. Examination by his vet revealed that he was displaying neurological symptoms, was blind, he had lockjaw, was "knuckling" with his paws and was therefore unable to walk.

Due to the medical care he is now receiving, near the end of his first week of care, he is eating a bit, his lockjaw has lessened and he can take a few steps on his own. Rabies has now been ruled out (he had not been vaccinated), but his vet friend has a challenge in front of her - which she will easily meet - he feels better already! He may have a long road ahead of him, but he will get the best of care. He is a sweet little boy who already shows gratitude for the warm bed, food, significant decrease in pain and discomfort, and the fact that he is able to see a bit is AMAZING! We hope he will continue to improve. Donations are very much appreciated so that he may continue to receive the medical care he requires in order to become well and join a family as an indoor cat where he will be safe and loved forever.
