Boots's Story

Boots is an estimated 5-6 year old cat who was found roaming on one of our staff's street. He has lived outside for most of his life but was easily won over with food and love. Unfortunately, from his years of living on the streets, he did contract FIV. However, FIV is not a death sentence and many cats live a full healthy life if well cared for. FIV is not easily transmittable. He would have to bite a housemate to transmit and he's luckily not a fighter! He gets along great with our other clinic cat. He might be more prone to infections due to the FIV but as long as they're cared for in a timely manner there shouldn't be an issue. Boots has been a very healthy lovely boy while at the clinic, he is always looking for a leg to rub on and is vocal about his wants for affection.

Red Maples Vet Clinic's Adoption Policy
Potential adopters would come into the clinic to meet the dog or cat one on one. If there are other animals in the house, we typically have them brought into the clinic at the first or second visit depending on the animal to make sure they will live well together. Then if all goes well, the adopter will sign a written contract to promise to provide care for the pet once leaving the facility.
