BONNIE's Story

Bonnie is a gentle, resilient mama cat with a soft heart that blooms once she feels safe. She’s a sweet girl who truly enjoys being pet and will happily soak up affection from her people—on her terms. While she doesn’t like being picked up, she has all the makings of a lap cat once trust is built and she’s comfortable in her environment. Bonnie does well with other cats. With slow, thoughtful introductions, she may also be able to live peacefully with dogs. She’s the kind of cat who appreciates a calm home, patience, and kindness—and she gives that same energy right back. Her story started at Bonnie’s Red Byrd in Keedysville, where she was found bravely surviving by dumpster diving and drinking from mud puddles while caring for her two kittens. The compassionate staff at The Red Byrd watched over Bonnie and her babies, providing food and water until they could be safely trapped and brought indoors. It took Bonnie some time to feel secure after life on the streets, but once she did, she revealed what an incredible foster she truly is. Bonnie is now ready for a forever home where she can continue to feel safe, loved, and respected. With a little patience, you’ll earn the trust of a truly special girl who has already proven just how strong and loving she can be. Bonnie is currently in a foster home.
