BOMB AY's Story
Believe it or now, there are certain people in the rescue world who seem destined to attract a specific type
of cat in need, and Danielle G. from the east side of the state is one such WONDERFUL person. Last summer
she brought us two very shy FIV+ guys, Gerald and Whitey Ford, and not too long after their departure, this
darling three year old (born in early 2018) showed up to take their place—and she turned out to be FIV+ as
well. Since she wasn’t spayed, more than likely she acquired the feline immunodeficiency virus through
mating, as this sweet, tender-hearted girl simply doesn’t know the definition of the word ‘fight’, and that is how the virus is transmitted, via penetrating bite wounds. Her nickname for the longest time had been
‘Mom-may’ as she had given birth to a litter of kittens in the fall, but given her exotic looks, I opted to capitalize on her captivating features and dubbed her Bombay. I think she approves:)

Bombay was pretty shy and unsure about everything when she first arrived but is slowly becoming more
social. She's not crazy about being picked up and carried around, but we are confident in time she will
warm up and allow it. In the meantime she's more than content with belly rubs and will expose her pretty
tummy to you at the merest suggestion of pets and fingers gently raking through her fur. She gets along very well with the other cats, especially those who helped her come out of her shell (er, cage) and would do fine in a home with a quieter cat that isn’t going to bully her or force her out of her comfort zone. She will most definitely need a patient family that understands her timid personality and allows her to blossom according
to her own schedule. A sunny window perch, a cozy couch, a comfy lap—these are the things that will brighten Bombay's day!
