BOLT's Story

Bolt is a sweet, animated cat whose playful personality is just beginning to shine as he settles in and grows more comfortable. While he can still be a little shy, especially at first, Bolt is making wonderful progress—emerging more often from his favorite hiding spot under the bed to relax on furniture or curl up with his humans.

This lovable guy has a gentle but lively demeanor. He enjoys head and ear scratches, pets, and seeks out physical affection once he feels safe. Evening is Bolt’s favorite time of day, when his zoomies kick in and his playful side really comes out. He’s still figuring out toys and can be unsure of them, but he loves interactive play and will happily engage with his people.

Bolt is a medium-energy cat who balances playtime with lots of lounging and cuddling. He’s not quite comfortable with being picked up yet, but that’s something he’s slowly working on as trust builds. He’s been tolerant of touch overall, including his ears, and responds well to calm, gentle handling. Bolt seems to bond equally with both male and female adults and has shown himself to be affectionate, sweet, and quietly confident as he continues to adjust. He’s just starting to learn household manners like using a scratch pad instead of furniture and appropriate play, and he’s picking things up at his own pace.

With patience, consistency, and love, Bolt will continue to blossom into a wonderful companion. His silly streak, soft affection, and growing confidence make him a truly special cat ready to bring joy to a calm, understanding home.

Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.
