Bojangles's Story

Bojangles was found barely alive after ingesting rat poison. Emergency treatments revived him; however, he still had another battle to conquer -- defective back legs that are making it extremely difficult for him to even walk. Michele's Rescue stepped in to save him from euthanasia, and are continuing the fight to give him a chance at a real life. Attempts were made to reshape his back legs into normal positions -- but this wasn't enough and his legs became even weaker. A specialist at Blue Pearl Vet Hospital gave us hope. They were able to determine that the tendons in the back legs are too short/tight, and his hip sockets are underdeveloped, but with the right surgical treatment, he can still thrive!

Further examinations were done by veterinary specialists at Purdue University Vet Hosipital (Indiana). They performed a CT scan and discovered his rear knee joint is not developed and the calf muscle is pulling his ankle at an abnormal angle. Additionally, he has hip displasia. Surgery is scheduled for early February, but the expense is extraordinary. Michele's Rescue is facing overwhelming challenges to cover the massive vet bills for the surgery itself, plus there will a long period of recovery and additional visits to veterinary specialists.

Bojangles is a beautiful cat who is full of love, and he only wants to live and play like any other kitten his age (only 8 months old)! He deserves to have that as his future, and Michele's Rescue is ready and willing to try and give it to him. Please share his story and consider donating. Every dollar means helping us reach that goal.
