BobCat's Story

I had an owner at one time but they moved and left me behind to fend for myself :-( Lucky for me, someone asked Feline Fix if they could help find me a new home. Nobody knew my original name so they call me "Bob Cat" because I have a bob tail and when you see my shadow it looks like a real bobcat!

I am a cool guy with a quirky personality so I need a special person to adopt me. It took me a long time to be comfortable enough with allowing the rescue people to touch me. I wasn't mean - I just didn't want them bothering me because I really liked my cat condo, bed and giant bowl of food. The way I tell people to leave me alone is by gently touching their hand with my paw. It's my "tell" and if you continue to try to pet me after I've given you a gentle warning, I can get cranky. But I also love to follow the people I know around and lay in the same room as them. I've even started coming over to them for attention - I rub on their legs and do dolphin jumps to hunch up my back for pets.

I get along well with most of the other cats now that they know to give me space. I pretend not to like the kittens but I do enjoy playing with them. I would love a home where I could be an only cat or a cat that lives with another chill, independent cat. I probably wouldn't be the best fit for a family with young children because they don't always get the hints I give when I'm not in the mood for petting. But a family with older kids or an individual or couple who wants the company of a very handsome orange tabby boy with no tail would be ideal! I promise that despite my quirks and strong opinions, I will be a really good companion and I will appreciate your company and affection.
