Bluebell's Story

Courtesy post! Foster or forever home needed ASAP!

Please meet Bluebell, the pretty black kitty with a titch of white on her chest and paws. She's believed to be about two to three years old. Looking out the window from her perch and surveying the room from the back of the couch are two of her favorite activities. (She's doing both with her friend Dusty in the pics.) If you give her just a little time, Bluebell will approach you for pets and love. She enjoys sitting next to you while you stroke her back -- she'll reward you with the best purr on the planet, too! She is also quite the social butterfly with other cats.

Bluebell was humanely trapped in a colony of cats during a TNR (trap, neuter, and return) effort. Normally, colony cats are trapped, spayed/neutered, and returned to the colony where they lived. The cats in many cases are feral and can't be adopted into homes because they aren't friendly enough with people, and there just aren't enough homes out there to house feral cats.

Bluebell was different, though. A volunteer realized that Bluebell loves being petted, is very sweet, and not at all feral.

Rather than return Bluebell to her colony, where food and safe drinking water were scarce, and medical treatment was very hard to come by, the volunteer scrambled to locate a temporary foster home for Bluebell and two other friendly kitties from the colony, Cowboy and Dusty (they also have profiles on Petfinder!). The trio's time at that foster home is coming to an end now, and they must find new foster or forever homes or go back to the colony.

Will you please help keep Bluebell safe by fostering or adopting her? You can call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information. Bluebell is in the Kansas City area, but transport is available to the right home.
