Blanket your new snuggle friend!'s Story

Blanket was rescued from a parking lot where she had been dumped in the beginning of the coldest days. She survived hiding underneath a blanket by a heating pipe for over a week. We never met a more sensitive kitty. She was so terrified, and has clearly had trauma from humans. She came in cautious, watchful, waiting to see if she could trust people again. With the right caregiver, she found her answer and sweetness just poured out of her. It hasn’t stopped since.

Blanket is a torbie — a gorgeous tortie-tabby mix — with some of the most charming coloring you’ve ever seen, including the most adorable little orange spot on top of her head, a sweet and soulful face with eyes that look right into you, and a perfectly outlined little nose that is simply too cute for words. She has the kind of gaze that makes you feel genuinely seen. But her looks are just the beginning. Her personality seals the deal.

She’s the kind of cat who becomes your soft, quiet shadow. Not needy — just aware. She likes to know where you are, settle nearby, and be part of your world. She’s also a little vocal about it. Not in a demanding way, but in the sweetest way possible. Sometimes she’ll wake up from a nap, find herself in a a place where she can’t spot you, and let out a little “hello?” The moment you call back, “hey, Binky Boo”, she comes right over, reassured. It’s the kind of thing that will absolutely wreck you (in the best way).

Give her a wand toy and she’s electric. Hand her a Kickaroo or a ball tower and she’s in heaven. And if you’re lucky enough to be petting her when the mood strikes, she’ll lift her little right paw… like she’s giving you a tiny, dignified thank you. When she’s not playing, you’ll likely find her curled up in her window hammock, watching the world go by. Her own little cat TV.

Blanket is confident without being demanding — a confidence she’s gained. She doesn’t startle easily, doesn’t run and hide, and takes in new things with calm, watchful eyes. She can get overstimulated, so she’ll appreciate someone who reads her cues — but she’s never aggressive. Just honest.

She’d most likely do best as the only cat in the home, or with a very easygoing resident cat who gives her space. She’d be a wonderful fit for a first-time cat owner, an adult home, or a family with older kids who know how to respect a cat’s boundaries.

Blanket came in from the cold. Now that Spring is here, and she’s ready for everything it promises: a new beginning, a permanent home, and someone to love her through every season. A place to blossom and live her very best life yet.

Could that be your home?

In spite of all she had been through, beautiful Blanket finds her courage and shows us quickly how affectionate and craving affection she is.

Blanket is very loving with her humans, is learning to play and enjoys a snuggle. She is fine with dogs and may prefer to be the only kitty in the home. We are still learning.

She is fully vaccinate and fixed and ready for her forever home. She is a beautiful cali-tabby mix, a very unusual lady.

Be The Change Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
We send out an application. If someone is a match for one of our animals, we set up virtual and/or in-person meetings for the adopters and potential furry companions. The next step is a home check to ensure doors, windows, plants, fireplaces, etc. are animal friendly. Then we check personal references to verify identity, including, if applicable, a vet who has seen the adopter's previous animals. Lastly, we bring the animal in person to do a final check of the home environment. We stay in close contact for the first few weeks. If any issues arise, we support the adopter as needed. And we will always take an animal back should things not work out for any reason.
