Blackie's Story

Blackie has thick shiny fur and the most beautiful green eyes. He is a very friendly and silly cat. He enjoys people and also playing with toys and people. Like most black cats, he is quiet and understated and can amuse himself if need be without a lot of fuss. Blackie came to the shelter 8/22/24 at age 5 months, weighing 5.6 lbs. as an owner-surrender along with his brother cat who has since been adopted. These photos and video were updated 6/25/25 when he was 1 year 3 months old. He has been waiting so long for a home. Did you know black cats are the least chosen color at animal shelters? They do not photograph well in poor shelter lighting and adopters often go for the most colorful cats or the long haired ones. Blackie is vaccinated, fiv/felv tested, neutered and microchipped. Call (434) 374-8076 or email lakecountryspca@yahoo.com. Visit LCSPCA Mon-Sat from 12-4pm when we are open for walk-in adopters at 11764 Hwy. 15, Clarksville, VA. No appt. necessary.
