Blackberry's Story
Blackberry came to us as part of our Trap, Neuter, Release program, in which community members trap feral cats from local colonies, we spay or neuter them and release them back into their home colony in an effort to decrease the local feral cat population. However, it was immediately apparent to our team that Blackberry was not feral, he was just scared. As soon as one of our Techs reached in to see if Blackberry would accept pets, he leaned in, even lifting his chin to give the Tech a better angle. While Blackberry has mostly adjusted to his new life of being an indoor kitty, he is still a little timid, and gets spooked easily. However, he’s never lunged, swatted or tried to bite, he just tries to hide and make himself small. Once you start to pet him though, all of that initial fear goes out the window and he purrs and pushes into your hand and tries to cuddle into your arms.

We believe that Blackberry will do very well in a home that understands he needs time and patience while he adjusts. If you give him that, you will be repaid with a lifetime of love.

*****************************************************************************************

If you would like to meet Blackberry or any of our cats available for adoption, please email ahrkittenrescue@gmail.com for more information and an application. A staff member will be in touch ASAP. Our kitty meet & greets are done by appointment only.

Our cats live with us here at our very busy animal hospital (a limited amount are fostered). We do not have a shelter but do our best with the space we have. Our adoption team will review your application and call references to determine the perfect future home for each of our cats. We have multiple cats that we are taking care of and working to get adopted.

All our cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, FELV/FIV negative and micro-chipped prior to adoption unless otherwise stated. Please view our adoption fees and policies for our cats.

Most of our cats have never met dogs or children of any age or size. We recommend a slow introduction process for children, dogs and other cats to help for a smooth transition into your home. All our new kitty parents are sent home with additional information on this process. You can also visit the www.ASPCA.com for additional information on this process.

If you would like to meet Blackberry or any of our cats available for adoption, please email ahrkittenrescue@gmail.com for more information and an application.
