Black Beans's Story

Meet Black Beans: a brave, curious, and hilarious little cat with a big personality. While she's not quite the all-day cuddle bug she used to be, she still insists on her daily chest nap to remind you she's a total sweetheart at heart.
Black Beans is the fearless sister - even the vacuum doesn't scare her! When she's not showing off her bravery, she's busy turning everyday things into toys. She loves kitchen hand towels and will dive under them like a tiny ninja before getting the zoomies. Sheets are another favorite; she loves to burrow, chase Sardine, and turn bed-making into an adventure.
She's also a climber through and through. You'll often find her perched at the top of closets, exploring open drawers, or finding the highest spot in the room just to keep watch.
Black Beans and her sister Sardine are inseparable. They play, nap, and explore together, and they love hanging out on their foster dad's lap or shoulder while he works. Because of that, they'd do best in a home where someone is around most of the day (bonus points if you work from home!).
Black Beans and Sardine are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. These two will fill your home with laughter, love, and plenty of cat chaos in the best way possible.

Contra Costa Humane Society's Adoption Policy
CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues. Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted. Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore. Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep. If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted! Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 171 Mayhew Way, Suite 101 in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions on Saturday, Sunday & Mo
