He's a domestic short haired orange and white tabby around 2 years old. He was originally a "stray"... When he first came around about a year ago, he was literally skin and bones, not even 5 pounds full grown! Being the animal lover that I am, I started putting food and water out for him. He was very scared of everyone at first, but as time went on he started to regain trust and show his loving nature. Within about 6 months, he was a totally different cat; Not even recognizable from what he looked like prior. He put weight on and his fur thickened. He finally feels loved and has regained his confidence. Last summer, I contacted a wonderful lady who does cat rescues ( Lori Smallwood Snyder). She helped me get his vaccinations and neutering done at an affordable price. She's truly a Godsend for felines in desperate need of help.<br/><br/>I ended up naming the cat "Biscuit"...maybe because he kinda looks like a fluffy, buttery, biscuit. Lol, it suits him. I honestly believe that someone dumped "Biscuit" off near our residence for some unknown reason. Biscuit is "NOT" a feral cat! I know this because he's extremely tame and comfortable around people, dogs and other animals. I believe that as a kitten, he was originally in a home around people AND dogs. Nothing really scares him, except maybe loud noises such as lawnmowers, loud engines and vacuum cleaners. Other than that, he's totally chill... laying around on the back of the couch, or on a warm lap. He is always purring and rubbing himself against people and our dogs. He plays with both our Chihuahuas AND our German Shepherd! He isn't even afraid of water! I have given him several baths, in the sink and in the bathtub. He didn't react like most cats naturally would. To my surprise, he stayed calm and allowed me to submerge him up to his neck in warm water, then suds him up with flea/tick shampoo and rinse him using a big cup. He only got irritated when I was pouring water over him to rinse. He didn't try to scratch or bite, but he did try to jump out of the tub. No feral cat in my experience would tolerate that, let alone dogs!<br/><br/>Anyway, Biscuit is an amazing cat! He's litter box trained now when inside, and he knows his name and comes when he hears "Biscuit, here kitty, kitty!" He's really quite intelligent.<br />He loves treats and meal time. Presently, he weighs around 10 to 12 pounds. He's a very large Tom-Cat. He has a strange deep, low meow which you'll hear when he wants to eat, or when he wants to go outside for awhile.<br />I've tried to keep him in the house, but he's experienced nature outdoors long enough to know that what's "out there" is way more interesting and entertaining than what's<br />"In there" (the boring, never changing house!).<br />Therefore, Biscuit needs to be in a home that can accommodate his need to go outdoors and explore, SAFELY and also have access to a warm home with people who will show him love and affection. He will undoubtedly reciprocate the love and affection he receives,<br />ten fold.<br />Please message me ASAP if you or someone you know would be interested in giving Biscuit a suitable and loving forever home.<br />If you or someone you know has a farm, that would be perfect! Especially if the property is far from roads and traffic.<br/><br/>Biscuit has proven himself to be extraordinary with rodent/pest control.
