Birdie's Story

Meet Birdie!

Birdie is a beautiful gray kitten who came to us with her mom, Mother Hen, and her siblings. She may have had a rough start in life, missing out on the early socialization that helps kittens feel comfortable around people, but she's already making progress and is ready to continue that journey in a patient, loving home.

Birdie is understandably cautious when meeting new people and will need a family that understands trust takes time. Rather than expecting her to be an instant lap kitten, her ideal adopter will let her explore, observe, and come out of her shell at a pace that feels safe to her. Every small step forward is a big accomplishment for this sweet girl.

Like any kitten, Birdie has a playful side that shines when she's with her siblings. She enjoys chasing toys, playing tag, and wrestling with her littermates, showing off the fun-loving kitten hiding beneath her shy exterior. As her confidence grows, we're excited to see even more of her personality emerge.

Birdie is looking for someone who will celebrate her progress, no matter how small, and give her the love, patience, and understanding she deserves. If you're willing to invest a little extra time into helping a shy kitten learn to trust, Birdie will reward you with a truly special bond that grows stronger every day.

All our cats are spayed/neutered, dewormed, FELV tested, microchipped, receive prevention while in our care, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-cats
