Bingo's Story

There was a family who wanted a cat, and Bingo was his name-o!

Bingo is ready to be the free square in the middle of your life, if that is the sort of analogy you've been missing, so stand up and shout out in excitement to claim your prize! Bingo's personality card checks off all of the necessary boxes to be a winner; social, handsome, chatty, cuddly, and just a little bit dumb. He also does an excellent impression of a parrot, complete with plopping himself on your shoulders, so the real question remains...arrrrrr you ready, buckos?

While Bingo is the total package, that packaging was a bit unstuffed by a little bit of bad luck in the genetic lottery, so he needs a patient and understanding home that is able to provide him with some special care. Bingo has PICA, which is a condition that causes him to chew on and swallow items that he otherwise shouldn't. He is currently on daily behavioral medication and a prescription food sensitivity diet to help improve his PICA. Bingo's adopter would be supplied with 3 months of his special diet food and medications and continue his prescription diet and medication(s) with their vet. Since every PICA case is different it's recommended after adoption to get further diagnostics to help identify the root cause of his PICA and test out different medications.

Bingo is looking for a kind soul who is willing to create a more minimalist home or a minimalist room to manage his access to certain fabrics, strings & paper. He can still have access to a large variety of typical cat toys, so long as they are more sturdy. With more "edible" cloth or string toys Bingo just needs to be monitored during playtime and have those toys removed if he's not being watched. You will need to get a little creative, but loving a cat like Bingo makes you feel so light on your feet that you might not even notice how much he keeps you on your toes! An ideal adopter may be someone who works from home, has a good sized spare room to be his home base when people aren't home, and has a great relationship with their vet. Our adoption staff can talk to you further with any questions you may have!

Bingo was also originally adopted from PAWS with one of his siblings, and has had many kitty friends in the shelter so we're confident he absolutely LOVES other playful energetic cats! He seems to have an interest in dogs, but has never met one as far as we know. It may seem overwhelming, but Bingo is well-deserving of the opportunity to flourish in the right home. He is such a unique and silly boy who truly has become a PAWS mascot and staff favorite!

------------------------------------

This cat is currently located at PAWS Old City Adoption Center located at 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. This location prioritizes appointments made by already approved applicants, but we can also accommodate browsers and walk-ins if and as our capacity allows. To ensure your best experience and best chance at meeting your new furry family member, we recommend completing the application ahead of your visit, which you can find at phillypaws.org/catapp. If you have any questions, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-238-9901 ext.30.
