Big Mama's Story

Big Mama used to be a big lady, but that was because she was hauling 7 babies around! Whew! Now that she's raised her sweet little rugrats, she definitely deserves her own chance to be someone's whole world!

Mama can be shy at first, but once she headbutts you, you are in for unlimited pets!! Always always patient and kind with her foster, she is a good girl and has never done a single thing to upset anyone! Sweet to her foster's other household kitties, uses the litterbox faithfully, and never scratches things or jumps onto anywhere she shouldn't be. She spends her days curled up in the cat tree! She's quiet, but if you approach her with a hand out and pause to be sniffed, she'll give you her headbutt of approval, and then you can pet her as much as you want! (It is really rewarding to coax her out of her shell and get all the pets!) Big Mama sits on the couch with her foster family sometimes, but there are always so many cats running around. We suspect she would allow more personality to show if there weren't so much happening....She would be great for someone with a quiet home, who wants a quiet pet! No young children or dogs, but calm older kids who respect her boundaries should be ok with her, cans she does well with a kitty friend or two around. She talks sometimes if she thinks she is alone or if she needs water or food and she hears you, but even then its pretty quiet... she is super gentle in spirit, and is really gentle with the other cats and with her people.

Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay, all current-due FVRCP, FeLeuk, and rabies vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. In addition to being fully vetted, our cats and kittens are highly socialized. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period and a 2-week wellness guarantee, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty!

To apply to adopt, please complete an adoption inquiry at www.bluesmews.org so our adoption specialist volunteer can review it and contact you!
