Eight-year-old Bob lost his home and had his life turned upside-down when the person he belonged to died. No one in the family was willing to take him, so now he needs a home.

Despite being frightened and disoriented, he has adjusted well to his foster home. He knows someone is being nice to him after he lost everything, and now he's responding to petting with a hearty purr, kneading, and light love nips. He even eats liquid treats from his foster mom's hand and seems to like it when she kisses him. We have not observed him with dogs or kids; we think he would do well with kids who know how to treat a cat respectfully. We know that he did not get along with the other cat in his previous home. Bob would do best in an interactive home where he would not be left unaccompanied for long periods of time. And, yes, he is a big boy.

He has been:
- neutered
- given rabies and distemper vaccinations
- tested negative for FeLV and FIV
- treated for worms and fleas
- tested negative for internal parasites.

His adopter will receive his medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. His adoption fee is a mere $75-- a bargain for a new best friend who will love you with all his heart for the rest of his life. He's being fostered in Somerville.
