Big Ben's Story

Hi, I'm Big Ben!

I'm a confident, friendly guy with a big presence and an even bigger personality. I enjoy people, carry myself with assurance, and like to be right in the middle of whatever's going on. When it comes to other cats, I can be a bit dominant, so I may do best as a solo kitty where I can soak up all the attention. With a slow, thoughtful introduction, I could potentially share my space with the right feline companion.

Like many cats who have spent time in shelter environments, I do carry a common feline upper respiratory virus. This simply means I may have occasional mild flare-ups, usually during times of stress, that can look like sneezing, watery eyes, or minor cold-like symptoms. Most of the time, I feel perfectly normal and go about my life like any other cat.
Long term, this just means keeping an eye out for symptoms and providing supportive care if I ever have a flare-up. It doesn't shorten my lifespan or stop me from being a wonderful companion.

For compatibility, I would do best either as your one and only, or with other cats who are already vaccinated and comfortable around cats with typical shelter backgrounds. A calm home and thoughtful introductions will help me thrive.
If you're looking for a bold, affectionate cat with a big personality and an even bigger heart, I might be your guy.
