Betty's Story

Betty is a beautiful, resilient cat with a heart full of love 💕. She was found in town, emaciated and terrified, alongside her two kittens. But once she was safe, she blossomed into the affectionate, playful girl she is today. Her kittens have since found their forever homes, and now it’s Betty’s turn! Betty adores attention and will shower you with love❤️literally! She loves to groom your head and hair, play with her toys, and soak up all the pets and belly rubs she can get. However, she does have some hypersensitivity on her lower back, which can cause spasms if scratched too much. Because of this, she’d do best in a home with older, understanding adopters who can respect her needs. Betty is fantastic with other cats and dogs, making her a wonderful addition to any household 🐾. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and social kitty to brighten your days, Betty is the perfect match! Our animals are currently residing in a foster home in South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved. We list them on Petfinder in the locations where we travel. WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019. We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents

Dixie Adoptables's Adoption Policy

Our Adoption Process: Our goal is to match the right pet with the right adopter. 1. Once we receive the completed application, we will call your vet references, personal reference, and landlord (if applicable). 2. Once you get an approval, we will set up a time for a phone call and typically can offer a video call with the potential animal. 3. All adoptions will be finalized and fees collected prior to the transport of your new family member. Adoption fees will not be refunded if you simply change your mind. We only hold an animal for adoption once a deposit has been paid or the full adoption fee has been paid. 4. We will coordinate with you to transport your new pet to one of our many transport destinations if you are not a local adopter. **We reserve the right to refuse an adoption**

Dixie Adoptables is a 501(c) (3) non-profit animal rescue. We are a rescue, not a shelter, and as such we do not have our animals housed in one location – they are in foster homes.
