BETSY's Story

I keep looking out my cage...waiting, hoping, that someone will come soon to take me home. My person had to go to a nursing facility. There was no one who could give me a home, so I was brought to the shelter. I am VERY sweet, love attention and am gentle - at 12 years old I know that there is nothing better than a home and family. I find shelter life lonely and confusing. I miss being with someone. If you are looking for a gentle, loyal companion, please come to meet me. I will purr my thanks. Taunton Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

**PLEASE CALL AHEAD FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET PETS AT THE SHELTER. 508-822-1463** Adopt a "best friend" for life! Please remember that dogs and cats of all ages need and deserve happiness, love, and a home. In return, they will love you unconditionally for all of your years together. We adopt to New England Residents only and require current/past veterinarian references. An application is REQUIRED to adopt an animal. Vet references will be checked, as well as references for those who rent. Adoption of an animal will be based on APPROVED applications only. We do not accept debit/credit cards. Payment must be check or money order with proper ID or cash. If submitting an application for a dog, please email it to rdanielczyk@taunton-ma.gov or gasman6637@icloud.com Dogs are $200.00 and cats are $165.00 (kittens up to 6 months are $185.00). This price includes the spay/neuter, rabies shot, and other required vaccinations.
