Beth's Story

Sweet, one-year-old Beth is a most excellent choice if you are looking for a cat to be your cat's BFF; there's nothing Beth loves more than a fellow feline!

Like any young kitty, Beth loves playtime: she leaps and bounds like a tiny antelope any time a wand toy is around— playtime is truly the way to her heart! At the same time, she is a delicate lady - very *demure.* When she's excited, Beth does the cutest little tail shake. She is perfectly happy to walk right up into your lap for treats, and is more than happy to get pets during treat time, especially when a tasty Churu is involved!

Beth was born on a very busy Brooklyn street to a mama cat who was (rightfully!) extremely wary of humans, loud sounds, and quick movements - it helped keep her and her babies safe! But since they were rescued back in February, we’ve been teaching Beth all about the easy, indoor life, and she's been settling in just fine :)

Beth’s ideal family will be calm, patient, and loving. Her people must have another cat-loving cat at home: Beth gains a lot of confidence (and joy!) from the presence of other kitties, and we want to continue to encourage her to come out of her shell!

Beth is available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (a “try before you buy” period — ask us more about this!) She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and negative for both FIV and FeLV.

If you're interested in sweet Bethy, please apply here: https://www.backyardcatsofbedstuy.com/adoption-application

Backyard Cats of Bed-Stuy's Adoption Policy
I ask that everyone interested in adopting a cat from me starts the application process by filling out my adoption application! The more details you can provide, the better. You can find the app here: https://www.backyardcatsofbedstuy.com/adoption-application Once I've received your application, if I'm interested in moving forward I'll reach out to schedule a Zoom call (or sometimes an in-person meeting, where possible). I often have the foster join as well to talk more specifically about each cat's personality and needs. If the meet-and-greet goes well, and if requested, the potential adopter can arrange a time to meet the cat(s) at their foster homes, or they can start out with a trial "foster-to-adopt" period of one month, to make sure it is a good fit for both cats and humans. A cat isn't considered "fully adopted" until they have been through proper vetting (spayed or neutered, given rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested for FeLV and FIV, microchipped, and dewormed and treated for fleas). I love to stay in touch with my adopters and often receive updates about their new pets thriving in their forever homes!
