Bertha's Story
*** If you have any questions or would like to meet any of our adoptable cats, email catadoptions@nawsus.org. Please include a cell number and check your SPAM folder if you do not receive a timely response.

Check out this big and beautiful girl! Meet Bertha! She was sadly relinquished to NAWS due to a family emergency of her owners. Bertha was understandably confused and a bit timid when first brought to our rescue - she had just lost the only home she had ever know. It didn't take long for her to come out of her shell.

Bertha is a chatterbox with a big personality. She is a BIG girl at over 18 pounds. She makes is very clear when she is happy and when she is hungry! This lady is not a fan restrictions on her food, and she will grumble/growl with her opinion. She needs an adopter that will be dedicated to helping her get to a more healthy weight, despite her objections! Bertha loves to be pet, but if you go over her limits, she will communicate it quite easily.

Due to her large size, she may need some assistance with grooming. Her longer hair requires regular brushing to help avoid mats. She seems interested in toys, but is not overly playful. While initially annoyed at her obnoxious young kitty neighbor, she now is very blasé about him. The best home for Bertha would be one where she can relax, receive attention, and perhaps be a couch companion.

Want to help care for her while she waits to find her forever home? You can be a "Sponsor!" Click on the "sponsor" button on this profile and your one-time donation will be used for vital everyday essentials such as her food, litter and medical care! Thank you for helping save lives!

All NAWS cats are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines.

A Cat Adoption Application is required should you decide you’d like to apply to adopt a NAWS cat. Please complete and submit the application electronically on our website at http://www.nawsus.org.
