Berry's Story

Berry is an approximately 8-year-old neutered male who has had his world turned completely upside down through no fault of his own. He originally belonged to a loving owner and was deeply bonded to both him and the family dog. After a sudden tragedy, Berry lost not only his person but also his canine companion, and has since been moved between homes where he hasn’t received the understanding or affection he needs.

Despite all of this, Berry remains a very sweet, affectionate boy. He is litter box trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been described as a good mouser. He previously enjoyed going on walks with his owner and the dog, and is known to do well with dogs. He would likely thrive as an only cat, though he may be able to adjust to other cats with time and proper introductions.

Berry seems understandably depressed and withdrawn right now—he’s grieving and craving stability, kindness, and companionship. He would do best in a quiet, calm home, ideally with someone who understands that love, patience, and routine can help a sensitive soul heal.

Berry doesn’t need perfection—he just needs someone willing to give him the safety, respect, and affection he’s been missing. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, loving companion who truly wants to belong again.

Apply to adopt at palofnorcal.org
