Abandoned as tiny kittens, Bernie and Brighton have spent most of their young lives in a shelter, overlooked by potential adopters. It’s heartbreaking to think that at2 years old, they’ve never known the comfort of a true home. Wanting to give them a better chance, we partnered with the shelter to bring them into foster care, where they could start to learn what it feels like to be loved and cared for while they continue their search for a forever family.<br/><br/>These bonded siblings have never given up hope, and now they’re beginning to blossom. Bernie and Brighton are super playful (especially at night—our kitty cams capture their adorable antics!) and incredibly food-motivated, which has been the key to winning them over. In just two short months in their foster home, they’ve gone from cowering in the corner at the sight of another human to tolerating affection while eating Churro treats and coming out from under the bed to yell at their foster human when it’s time for dinner. They’re slowly but surely learning that humans are their friends, and with patience and love, they’re starting to trust.<br/><br/>Currently living with a mellow chocolate lab, they’re doing wonderfully and have proven to get along great with other cats too.
