Benita's Story
Benita may be small, but this spunky, high-energy kitten has already overcome more than most cats will in a lifetime. Found with intestinal parasites and nerve damage to her back legs, Benita's early days were tough-but she never gave up. Thanks to antibiotics and a strong will, she's regained full mobility in her back legs and is now a playful little whirlwind of energy and joy.

Benita still faces a challenge: she's not yet able to control her bladder or bowels due to the effects of toxoplasmosis, but she's making progress every day. She does well in a crate-though there may be some mess-and she needs a loving, patient home willing to support her unique needs. She's not litter box trained yet, but she has the spirit and smarts to keep trying with your help.

Despite everything, Benita is a tenacious little ball of fur who refuses to let anything slow her down. She turns anything into a toy-food, litter, your shoelaces-and will pounce and leap around the room like a kitten on a mission. Her playful antics are sure to make you laugh, and when she's finally ready to settle down, she has moments of the sweetest, most tender affection. Her soft purrs and deep gaze will absolutely melt your heart.

Benita's Highlights:
10/10 energy level-born to play!

Affectionate and cuddly on her own terms

Gets along great with other cats and loves kids

A true survivor with a playful spirit and unbreakable will

Her gorgeous eyes will steal your soul (in the best way)

The ideal home for Benita is one with loving humans who can give her the attention, understanding, and patience she needs. She would thrive with other animals and gentle kids who are accepting of her journey. She's a special kitten with a huge heart, ready for someone just as special to give her the chance she deserves.

Medical / Behavioral Notes:
Medical:
Benita suffered nerve damage due to toxoplasmosis. She has full mobility in her back legs thanks to treatment, but she doesn't have sensation in her lower back end.

Behavioral:
She's currently unable to control her urination or bowel movements due to the nerve damage. However, with routine care and stimulation, she's doing well. We've built a bathroom schedule to help her eliminate more consistently and reduce accidents. She does great in a crate (though occasional messes still happen) and wears a diaper comfortably when outside of her crate.

Benita's resilience and affectionate nature make her truly one of a kind. If you're looking for a kitten who will inspire you every single day and shower you with love (and a little chaos), Benita might just be your perfect match.
