Meet Belle; a lovely female Brown Tabby, estimated to be 2-3 years old. Belle is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick preventative. She is litter-box trained.<br/>Belle is the most playful cat her foster family has EVER had! She’s never met a toy she didn’t like but her absolute favorite is her stuffed gecko which is falling apart from so much play (don’t worry; we have spares to send along with her). Belle will never say “no” to a playtime session and if you’re busy she’ll play happily by herself. Add a little catnip for some extra entertainment–she loves the stuff!<br/>Considering her history this is really remarkable. Belle showed up at her foster family’s house as a feral stray; skittish, starving and pregnant. Sadly it appears this wasn’t her first pregnancy. We don’t know what became of her previous litters...<br/>After intensive effort by her foster family she developed trust and a bond, allowing them to finally be able to bring her indoors for the life she was meant to have; a happy house cat, one of safety, comfort and love.<br/>Belle struggled at first with this transition as ferals often do, but settled in and adapted beautifully, even more than we thought possible considering how skittish she was. As Belle grew more confident in her new surroundings and indoor life the playful side emerged as did her contentment. She does not like being held (a leftover instinct from her feral days) but considering how loving and playful she is, and her constant desire for human interaction, we suspect this may change with time. While Belle is not quite a lap cat (yet) she likes sitting next to her “dad” every chance she gets.<br/>We don’t know how Belle would do with dogs, not having been around them but likely okay with proper introductions and supervision. She gets along very well with other cats, constantly seeking their company for play-time and would do best in a household with other cats but she can be intimidating with timid cats (trying to make them play when they don’t want to). She’s not been around children but should be fine with kids familiar with how to handle and treat pets.<br/>Belle has progressed from a scared, timid, suspicious feral to a wonderful indoor companion who is a delight to her foster family. The progress they’ve seen as they worked with her is amazing and fully expect her to keep evolving and shedding her left-over feral instincts.<br/>Belle must be an “indoor only” kitty–if let outdoors, she would likely regress to her formerly feral, solitary nature and that would be an absolute crime for such a sweet cat.<br/>If you’re looking for a playful, interactive kitty companion Belle just might be the cat for you!
