Bella's Story
Bella’s story was almost a tragedy. She deserves a happily ever after.

In the summer of 2025, Bella came to Paws Fur Life as an owned pet with 6 newborn kittens that had been born outside because the owner had dogs that were not good with the cat and a child with allergies. She agreed to let us take Bella and her kittens until they were weaned and Bella was vetted. She agreed to surrender the kittens for adoption but refused to give up Bella.

Bella’s foster adored her and asked repeatedly if she could be found an indoor home. Despite our efforts to convince the family it would be in her best interest to live indoors, they would not agree to surrender her. She was vetted and returned to the family.

It was brought to our attention by a concerned neighbor that Bella had been put back outside, and the family had thrown away the insulated shelter given to them by another rescue. When temps dropped below zero recently, the other rescue asked if the family would surrender Bella. They agreed, and she came to a foster with Paws for Life.

We got her just in time. Her foster soon discovered that she had wounds on her leg and paw pad. We suspected frostbite, but the vet said they were healing bite wounds….probably from one of the family’s 3 dogs.

Bella is a friendly, confident, affectionate cat. She is litter box trained. She likes people and cats. Her last canine family members were not kind to her, so we are not sure how she would do with dogs. She is great with kids. The little girl in her previous home definitely loved her. Bella is estimated to be 3-4 years old.

Let’s give this sweet cat the forever home she deserves….a safe, warm, indoor home where she is loved and protected for the rest of her life.
